Scar and Stretch Marks Camouflage

We’ve had experience working with different types of scars, including smooth and flat, as well as atrophic and hypertrophic scars. Before your procedure we may recommend a resurfacing treatment to help minimize scarring. You’ll need to wait at least 6 months from the time of your surgery to schedule an appointment with us. We work with white, nude, reddish, and brown scars.

The procedure involves three stages: primary, correction and secondary correction. To achieve maximum results, several corrections are needed. Immediately after camouflage there may be a slight local swelling and redness; these phenomena are temporary. The final result can be assessed after the completion of the rehabilitation period (1-1.5 months). The aesthetic effect lasts up to 2-5 years.

Flat scars are usually pink or red, and they become less noticeable as they heal. Over time, flat scars may become lighter or darker than the surrounding skin.

Atrophic scars are sunken, rounded pits or indentations in the skin. They result from chickenpox or acne and develop most often on the face. As we age, our skin loses collagen and elasticity which can make atrophic scars more noticeable.

Hypertrophic scars are raised, and you can feel them when you run your finger over them. They may become smaller over time, but they never flatten out completely. Unlike keloids, hypertrophic scars don’t grow or spread beyond the wounded area.

Stretch marks are caused when the connective tissue under the skin is damaged by rapid expansion or shrinkage. The most common places to get stretch marks are on the breasts, stomach, thighs and upper arms. Stretch marks are a form of scarring characterized by an atrophy appearance. Learn More

Keloids are raised scars that often spread beyond the original wound site. Keloids can grow large and limit body movement. This type of scars is not suitable for camouflage.

People with certain medical conditions should not get tattoos. These include:

· Skin diseases, infection in the treatment area

· Tendency to form keloid scars

· Herpes in the acute stage

· Mechanical damage to the skin (abrasions, bruises, cuts, etc.) at the site of the procedure

· Hematological diseases (hemophilia and other forms of coagulopathies)

· The presence of neoplasms of unknown etiology, cancer, etc.

At our first meeting, we’ll get to know each other and answer any questions you have. We’ll also show you some examples of our work so that you’ll have a better idea of the kind of results you can expect from us. Once we’ve agreed on a plan for your camouflage, we’ll start the procedure by cleaning the area with an antiseptic solution. Then we apply some local anesthetic cream to numb the skin in order to reduce any discomfort during the procedure. After checking your numbness level, we’ll start filling in your scar with pigments. At the end of the micropigmentation process, you will be pleasantly surprised by how well it blends into your skin. The pigment gradually fades over time. But its original color is preserved.

We use only special pigments for paramedical camouflage. These pigments are designed to blend in with the natural tone of healthy skin. Scars are structurally different than healthy skin, but they can be made to look more normal by choosing a pigment that matches the surrounding skin. Scars also tend to shrink and improve in appearance over the first month after the procedure.
